Andy Serkis’ Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, a dark take on Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale, is available for streaming on Netflix. It features 105 shots delivered by our artists for two major sequences.

Our CG team animated Shere Khan in a dramatic face-off that was also an exciting challenge for our compositors. Our team integrated actor Rohan Chand, who plays the man-cub, in a CG photoreal environment, surrounded by CG elephants. Our team mixed and refined multiple elements such as plates, creatures, sand, dust, matte painting and practicals to create this climactic scene.

VFX Breakdown

Rodeo were approached to look at an epic bit of the end battle, starting from where Shere Khan charges Mowgli all the way through to him getting shot by the hunter. They did a great job on that piece and we couldn’t be happier with the work done there, lead by VFX Supervisor François Dumoulin.
