Location: Montreal

Under the supervision of the Head of Environment the Artist will create objects, scenes, requiring modeling, textures, shading, lighting, animation (camera and basic mechanical) and rendering. The Artist will also help in the evaluation of new CG projects.

Key Responsibilities

Create photo-realistic and stylized environments in 3D and 2D
Create modeling, textures, shading, lighting, animation (camera and basic mechanical) for objects, environments, or full scenes
Work closely with the CG and Environment Supervisors and Production to find creative and technical solutions and to meet deadlines
Combine talents in Photoshop, Clarisse, Maya and Nuke, with knowledge of modeling and camera projection techniques to produce 3D and 2D digital environments
Be able to participate in the development of setups for the different stages of production in 3D and solve potential problems
Be able to deliver work within established project targets and the high quality standards of the company
Create complete shots, from a concept or reference to delivery to compositing

Qualifications & Experience

Degree in 3D Animation
5+ years of experience in a VFX studio as a Matte Painting - Environment Artist
Excellent knowledge of Photoshop and Maya
Good knowledge of color in a film pipeline
Experience working with Clarisse, Substance Painter, Nuke and Arnold
