Location: Montreal

Key Responsibilities

Create dynamic simulations and rigs for photo-realistic creatures; including clothing, fur, hair, muscle and skin
Involved in the development of departmental tools and techniques
Communicate regularly with Production and Leads regarding schedules and deadlines
Work with the visual effects Supervisor, and the lead CG artist to determine the best creative approaches and techniques for all the different steps in a 3D production pipeline
Work within established project targets and the high quality standards of the company

Qualifications & Experience

Experience on CG creature projects
Excellent knowledge of Maya
Strong Houdini background
Experience with some of the following types of dynamic simulation: cloth, hair/fur, feathers, skin and muscle
Experience of creating simulation rigs and setups for shows
Rigging skills and experience

Junior Artist

Recent graduate or at an early stage in your career
Minimal work experience or new to VFX

Intermediate Artist

2+ years of experience in VFX
Independent, proactive and able to tackle most artistic and technical tasks
Know when to ask for help or a second opinion
Able and willing to share knowledge with peers

Senior Artist

5+ years of experience in high-end VFX
Confident in your artistic and technical skills
Able to trouble-shoot or find solutions and easily complete complex tasks
Able to contribute significantly towards the training and development of peers
