Location: Montreal

We’re looking for a Compositing expert who can guide and advise our Compositing artists through delivery of our shows.

You must be able to analyze the needs and challenges of each show, determine the best approaches so that your teams can be efficient in delivering world-class shots, and ensure that all artists have the necessary information and knowledge to do a great job.

The Compositing Supervisor reports to the Head of 2D and works in close collaboration with our VFX Supervisor and VFX Producer.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise all Compositing work for a show, from project evaluations to post-mortem reports
Collaborate with leads and artists, provide clear directives and objectives, and monitor progress
Establish workflows and modify technical approaches to maximize efficiency
Initiate R&D as needed and work with developers to create new tools and to address pipeline needs
Conduct technical checks of shots before delivery
Work closely with the VFX Supervisor and with Production to find creative and technical solutions, identify resources needed and meet deadlines

Qualifications & Experience

2+ years of experience in a supervisor role in VFX production
Graduate from a 3D animation program and/or degree in Computer Graphics
Experience as senior level compositor
Excellent knowledge of Nuke and/or Flame
Excellent understanding of all stages of VFX production
