Location: Los Angeles
Rodeo FX, an award-winning international visual effects company located in Montreal, Quebec City, Munich and Los Angeles, is currently seeking an Application Support Specialist for its Los Angeles Studio.
Reporting to the Head of Software, the Application Support Specialist is expected to be an in-house application expert whose primary responsibilities include application troubleshooting and identifying the root causes of artist problems.
The Application Support Specialist is expected to effectively communicate with technical and business resources across the company and to contribute to the definition and development of our core IT and Development department.
In addition, as the Los Angeles office is a satellite office, the Application Support Specialist will serve as the primary technical contact for the entire office.
Assist technical staff in diagnosing and triaging technical issues and escalating to software resources where appropriate
Document, monitor and continually improve the configuration process and ongoing operational procedures
Develop and recommend improvements to the current environment, policies and processes
When time permits, develop in-house software tools to improve the overall efficiency of the Los Angeles office, as well as the broader technology team
Contribute to the overall operations of the company, fostering our culture, values and policies
Being the primary contact for IT related issues in the Los Angeles office
Working with the IT team in the Montreal office to resolve IT related issues, in the Los Angeles office
Be the first contact for Los Angeles artist farm issues and occasionally help the Montreal wrangling team, during Los Angeles work hours
Help identify and articulate any issues specific to multi-site workflows with the RodeoFX technology team (IT and Software)
Perform other Ad Hoc tasks as required
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor degree in computer science, computer programming, network administration or equivalent work experience
Strong aptitude for technical learning, including demonstrated ability to learn and master custom in-house applications
Basic knowledge of Python programming language
Basic knowledge of computer hardware maintenance and IT standards
Knowledge of queuing systems, Tractor
Basic Knowledge of Photoshop, Cinema4D, Arnold, Katana, Maya, Houdini, Nuke
Knowledge of other industry renderers (Redshift, Octane, etc)
Knowledge of VFX pipeline standards (Rez, Shotgun Software API, Shotgun Pipeline Toolkit)
Experience with data visualization tools (Google Data Studio, Shotgun Production Insights, Google Sheets, etc)
Proficiency with Atlassian suite of products (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket)
