Reports to : Head of Animation

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the high-quality, visually stunning, hyper-realistic animation of creatures, characters and objects
Track animation artists' work and provide artistic and technical notes
Act as mentor and develop the talent of junior and intermediate artists
Assist the Head of Animation in developing the talent and culture of the team
On pre-production and smaller shows, take on the role of artist and set the quality standards for the animation team

Qualifications & Experience

7+ years of experience in a VFX studio
Traditional animation or artistic background
Previous experience with hyper-realistic facial animation
Previous experience working with motion capture data
Previous experience working with Linux
Excellent understanding of body mechanics, acting, posing and storytelling techniques
Excellent knowledge of Maya
Knowledge of scripting, Mel or Python
Understanding of Rigging and Modeling
