The Montreal studio started off strong with an interesting and greatly anticipated conference on Luc Besson’s upcoming movie, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Overall VFX supervisor Scott Stokdyk made the introduction, followed by the VFX Supervisors from the three studios working on the film: Philippe Rebours from Industrial Light & Magic, François Dumoulin from Rodeo FX and Martin Hill of Weta Digital.

On day 3, Jordan Soles, VP Development and Technology at Rodeo FX, took part in a roundtable discussion on the state of medium-sized studios that included representatives from five studios: Image Engine, Atomic Fiction, Milk VFX, Pixomondo and Rodeo FX.

Rodeo FX president Sébastien Moreau, accompanied by VP Production Isabelle Langlois and the recruiting team, took the opportunity to visit the well-known film school Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. Many of its students came to meet our recruitment team during the conference.

The Rodeo FX team thanks the FMX for their warm welcome and the outstanding organization and looks forward to the 2018 edition.
