The latest Cinefex issue has arrived and features articles about two of our recent projects: Unbroken and Jupiter Ascending.
Editor in chief Jody Duncan signs a fascinating article about Angelina Jolie’s World War II biopic Unbroken, for which Rodeo FX produced 240 stunning visual effects. Our VFX Supervisor Matthew Rouleau gives extensive explanation about the creation of the 154 shots of the airborne B-24, the aerial battle, and the plane’s subsequent rough landing on an island airbase, among other sequences delivered by Rodeo FX. Subscribers of the Cinefex iPad edition will also enjoy additional visuals, such as interactive photographs, as well as VFX breakdowns and bonus video footage. Readers will get to see how we crafted photorealistic images, creating the breathtaking air combat between the B24s and the Zero fighter planes.
In an in-depth article about Jupiter Ascending, Associate Editor Joe Fordham describes the incredible visual effects of the original science fiction epic adventure from renowned filmmakers Lana and Andy Wachowski. Rodeo FX completed 33 shots for the movie, as a small team of artists conceived and created Titus’ Dressing Pavilion digital environment.
