Rodeo FX produced nearly 240 stunning visual effects shots for Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken, including the incredible flying sequence that depicts the bombing of the Japanese-held island of Nauru, as well as the landing scene of the damaged B24 Superman plane at the Funafuti airstrip.
As it has done on a number of films in the past -including Pacific Rim, Mission Impossible and Terminator, to name a few- Rodeo FX partnered with Industrial Light & Magic on the movie.
Based on the bestselling biography Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption by Laura Hillenbrand, Unbroken tells the story of war hero, Louis Zamperini, whose B24 bomber crashed into the Pacific. Zamperini was captured and spent over two years in horrific conditions in Japanese POW camps.
Starring Jack O’Connell as Louis Zamperini,Unbroken is produced by Universal Pictures. The scenario was written by the Coen brothers (Fargo, No Country for Old Men) and famous DP Roger Deakins (Skyfall, Shawshank Redemption) was behind the camera. The film has been playing in theaters across North America since December 25, and is gradually being released in Europe and Asia.
