As the reign of the Titans begins, we’re celebrating our team’s 150 shots in Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The expertise of our compositing and FX artists with great icy northern walls helped us trap King Ghidorah in a giant block of ice, which we then blew up in a chain of digital explosions.

Our team was also tasked to add condensed breath to the actors, as the action takes place in a freezing cave. The cave was also extended digitally by our team.

To create the condensation, our in-house practical team used a technique called “Dragon Breath” that involves dunking cereal in liquid nitrogen, putting it into their mouths, and exhaling to create a perfect ‘frozen breath’ effect, which we then lit and photographed for our compositors.
