Robert Bock is a Cinematographer and Visual Effects Supervisor known for his work in motion pictures, documentaries, TV shows and commercials, and a recent winner of a Gemini Award for best cinematography for Sled Dog Soldiers.
After studies in Chemistry and Film Studies (Queen’s University, Canada), Robert started in commercial advertising photography. However, he quickly developed an expertise and passion for visual effects photography and has since worked on more than 50 features, documentaries and commercials as director of VFX Photography and VFX Supervisor.
Just recently, he completed on-set VFX supervision for Blade Runner 2049, The Fate and the Furious and the upcoming Death Wish and Game Night.
Robert has also recently completed filming additional visual effects (practical effects and 2nd unit plates) for Game of Thrones (Seasons 4, 5, 6 and 7), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, The Greatest Showman, It, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets and Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
With his background as a cinematographer, Robert has a thorough understanding of the on-set production processes and shooting methodology needed for visual effects.
As such, Robert is also responsible for all acquisition of VFX data, 3D scanning, set-surveys, textures shoot and HDRi's, as well as any 3D tracking needs.
