Congratulations to ILM and the supervision team for their BAFTA nomination: Hal Hickel, John Knoll, Lindy De Quattro and Nigel Sumner. Rodeo FX was honoured to team up with such talented and professional people, and contribute to this spectacular and visually innovative movie!

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts announced the nominees for the 2014 BAFTA Awards. Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim is part of the five finalists to compete in the 2014 Best Special Visual Effects category. The EE British Academy Film Awards will take place on Sunday, February 16, 2014 and will be hosted by comedian Stephen Fry.

This BAFTA nomination for Pacific Rim is an excellent sign for the 2014 Oscars. As announced by the Academy last December, the movie made it to the final shortlist for the Best Visual Effects category. The five final Oscar nominees will be announced on Thursday, January 16, 2014.
