Game of Thrones is nominated in 4 categories at the upcoming VES Awards, including « Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Photoreal/Live Action Broadcast Program ». The wildly successful television series could actually win in this prestigious category for a 3rd year in a row.
In collaboration with production VFX Supervisor Joe Bauer and VFX Producer Steve Kullback, a handful of VFX studios, including Rodeo FX, produced the amazing visual effect of the 4th season of this fantastic series.
Rodeo FX artists, led by VFX Supervisor Matthew Rouleau, delivered more than 150 visual effects shots for the series. In addition to creating the city of Meereen, the largest and greatest city-state of Slaver’s Bay, the Montreal VFX studio designed spectacular matte paintings, as well as conceiving a zombie-horse, CG armies and horsemen, and many more.
Congratulations to HBO, Joe Bauer, Steve Kullback, and to all the studios and artists who contributed to the spectacular visual effects of Game of Thrones.
The 13th Annual VES Awards Gala will take place on February 4, 2015 in Los Angeles.
