Rodeo FX is proud of this extraordinary collaboration with the Quebec director Kim Nguyen (Rebel) who transports us to the heart of the Nunavut polar scenery in his latest film Two Lovers and a Bear. Inspired by a short story by Louis Grenier, founder of Kanuk clothing, and produced by Roger Frappier (The Decline of the American Empire, La Grande Seduction), this romantic drama starring Dane DeHaan (Life, Chronicle) and Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) who personify Roman and Lucy, tells the story of two lovers trying to find inner peace in an expedition in the middle of the North.

Rodeo FX is the sole vendor to create visual effects on this film and the collaboration began at the shooting under the supervision of Laurent Spillemaecker, on set visual effects supervisor for Rodeo FX. A team of 35 people, led by VFX supervisor André Ü Montambeault, then worked on nearly 180 visual effects shots, many of which involved the magnificent polar bear. In total, these visual effects shots, mainly involving compositing, required 10 months of work.

Launched at the Cannes Film Festival last May, Two Lovers and a Bear features Dane DeHaan, Tatiana Maslany, Gordon Pinsent and John Ralston. The film, distributed by Seville Pictures hit theatres on September 7, 2016
