Rodeo FX is very proud to be, once again, part of the visual effects team nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects at the 68th Emmy Awards.

Rodeo FX, along with other talented VFX studios, contributed to the impressive visual effects of the popular TV series Game of Thrones. On Season 6, Rodeo FX intensified its work for the series, for which it won an Emmy for both Season 4 and 5.

Rodeo FX delivered 152 VFX shots for eight of the ten episodes on Season 6. From the creation of CG set extensions and environments to the modelling of complex assets and the creation of spectacular effects such as balls of fire, splashing water and exploding boats, the team of almost 100 artists brilliantly handled this challenging project.

Congratulations to VFX Supervisor Joe Bauer, VFX Producer Steve Kullback and the team at HBO, who are going for a 5th award in the VFX category, having won the honors for the past four years.

They say that good things come in threes! We wish the best of luck to Rodeo FX’s VFX Supervisor Matthew Rouleau, who is nominated as CG Supervisor on Game of Thrones for the third year in a row and looking to bring back a third Emmy Award.

The Creative Arts Emmy Awards show will air on September 17, 2016.
