Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken is nominated for VES Award in the category« Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Photoreal/Live Action Feature Motion Picture ». This prize rewards the overall achievement of the visual effects that play a supporting role in the telling of the story.

In collaboration with main vendor Industrial, Light and Magic and VFX Supervisor Bill George, Rodeo FX delivered 240 visual effects for the World War II biopic. The Rodeo FX team, led by VFX Supervisor Matthew Rouleau, created the airborne B-24, the aerial battle, and the plane’s subsequent rough landing on an island airbase, among other spectacular sequences.

Congratulations to nominees Bill George, Steve Gaub, Erin Dusseault and Brian Cox, and to all the studios and artists who contributed to the beautiful visual effects of Unbroken.

The 13th Annual VES Awards Gala will take place on February 4, 2015 in Los Angeles.
