Furious 7 is nominated for VES Award in the category “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature”. This award is to honour the overall technical and artistic achievement of the visual effects that play a major role in the telling of the story.

In collaboration with VFX Supervisor Mike Wassel and VFX Producer Karen Murphy, Rodeo FX delivered over 125 visual effects for the movie that sadly marked Paul Walker’s final appearance in the franchise.

Led by VFX Supervisor Laurent Spillemacker, the Rodeo FX team injected a lot of adrenaline to the movie that was offering up the usual fast-paced action. The artists delivered many smashing VFX, including lots of breaking glass, explosions, car crashes, and exotic environments enhanced in CG.

Congratulations to nominees Mike Wassel, Karen Murphy, Martin Hill, Kevin McIlwain and Dan Sudick, and to all the studios and artists who contributed to the spectacular visual effects of Furious 7.

The 14th Annual VES Awards Gala will take place on February 2 2016, in Los Angeles.
