NBC’s Sunday Night Football did not get one but two nominations for the 36th Annual Sports Emmy Awards. The spectacular show opening created by Rodeo FX and production company Bodega Studios is listed twice in the same category, as the regular season opening and the Super Bowl opening are both finalists for the Outstanding Production Design/Art Direction award.
Rodeo FX created 60 visual effects shots for the opening of the regular season of Sunday Night Football on NBC; and also crafted 80 VFX shots for the spectacular show opening of the Super Bowl XLIX, viewed by nearly 115 million people on NBC last February. Both openings feature singer Carrie Underwood performing in a virtual stadium, before 60,000 simulated fans. The colorful and high-energy openings were created in collaboration with content creation/production company Bodega Studios and NBC Sports VP Creative Director/Director Tripp Dixon.
The Awards will be given out at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s prestigious Frederick P. Rose Hall, located in the Time Warner Center on Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 in New York City.
