Previsualization (Previs) is a technique for filmmakers to visually explore their ideas by designing shots in the context of a sequence. It enables them to find the best possible way to convey their story, plan technical solutions, and better communicate their vision efficiently.

Previs is the next step in storyboarding. It uses 3D animation tools and virtual environments to stage action, shots, and sequences. Assets built during previs can be reused at a later stage in the post-production pipeline. Furthermore, the technical information obtained through the use of previs is of immense value to production: saving time, money, and solving problems before they happens.
