Less than a month after winning the Emmy Award for best visual effects, the TV series Game of Thrones is now nominated for an HPA Award in the category “Outstanding Visual Effects – Television” for the episode “The Children”.

The Hollywood Post Alliance Awards honor excellence in postproduction while bringing recognition to the creative achievements of individuals and companies as well as creative excellence and groundbreaking technologies within the postproduction industry. The HPA Awards are considered the standard bearer for excellence and innovation in the industry.

Rodeo FX is one of the main studios nominated alongside VFX Supervisor Joe Bauer in the “Outstanding Visual Effects” category for Game of Thrones. The popular TV series could also be awarded two more prizes in the color grading and sound categories.

The winners of the 2014 HPA Awards will be announced during a gala evening, November 6, 2014 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA.
