Montreal, October 3rd, 2016 – Sébastien Moreau, President of Rodeo FX, is pleased to announce the nomination of Marie Côté to the position of Head of Global Communications and Business Development.

Marie Côté will continue the expansion of the francophone film and advertising markets and will bring a strategic support to the communications team.

“Marie has had a brilliant career, and the expertise and experience she’s bringing to Rodeo FX will be a definite asset to tackling the growth challenges of our studio and showcasing our talent,” says Sébastien Moreau.

“I am really excited about joining an innovative digital firm that has promoted Montréal and Quebec creativity across the globe!”, says Marie Côté.

Current Chair of the board of directors of the CALQ (Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec) and a member of the board of directors of the Computer Research Institute of Montréal, Marie Côté served for more than 10 years on the executive board of Radio-Canada, in particular as head of ARTV and EXPLORA.

After founding Productions J, Marie became Director of Creation for Film and TV at Cirque du Soleil in the early 2000s. In this role, she produced Tribute to visual effects, a show which was performed during the 2002 Oscar ceremony, and won an Emmy as Executive Producer for Fire Within, a documentary TV series aired on Bravo.

Marie is keen on creativity and innovation in all artistic disciplines, but her true passion is film and the endless possibilities that come with technological innovation. She graduated from Université de Montréal with a bachelor’s degree in film and pursued master’s studies in communications and technology. Recently, to satisfy her thirst for knowledge of digital technologies, she completed a certificate in UX interface design with the Nielsen Norman Group in San Francisco.

An active volunteer in cultural milieus — Cinémathèque québécoise, Cinéma Excentris, Conseil national du cinéma et de la production télévisuelle of SODEC, Publicité Club, Evenko Foundation, Montréal Museum of Fine Arts — Marie recently joined Autism Without Limits, an organization that supports fulfillment and social inclusion of adults with high-functioning autism.
